Situated on a sloped elongated site, the extension to the hospital meets challenges in its design and construction. The existing Tsuen Wan Adventist Hospital comprises a 130-bed hospital block built about 50 years ago, a nursing school and a 10-storey administrative block and staff quarters.
The nursing school and administrative block would be demolished and a new hospital block will be built to accommodate new wards, outpatient clinics, specialty and day surgery centres, operating theatres, various hospital services, an auditorium and new car parking facilities. The redevelopment project will be carried out in two stages to maintain continuous operation of the Hospital.
