Since joining ThomsonAdsett in 1997, Tieran has been involved in many landmark projects in the Seniors Living, Health Care, Residential and Commercial disciplines. His client focus and ability to balance the needs of functionality, design and business drivers have been the important foundations to his successful architectural career. A philosophy of service and forming strong partnerships drives Tieran’s commitment to client relationships. Tieran believes having a clear view of each client’s business allows him to better achieve their organisational objectives.
Tieran has developed a depth of knowledge in the current and future directions of designing accommodation for Australia’s elderly. This understanding is borne from over 15 years’ experience delivering seniors living facilities. In aged care design, Tieran’s passion lies in improving quality of life and creating a home-like environment for residents.
As the Managing Director of ThomsonAdsett’s Victorian practice, Tieran works closely with each design team to ensure the best results for all ThomsonAdsett’s clients. Tieran maintains an overview of every aspect of the practice including developments in the commercial, defence and education sectors. He is capable of engaging at the most strategic and the most detailed level, as each project demands.
Tieran is passionate about person and user focused design. He creates vibrant environments that engage people on a personal level. Tieran has gained experience in guiding projects from their inception through to the final occupation of the building. This has involved strategic organisational planning, detailed brief formulation and the production of feasibility and Master Planning reports for clients; key in determining appropriate solutions and the best way forward for projects.
Tieran is ThomsonAdsett’s Group Technology Director, and as such has a detailed understanding of the role and capabilities of technology in the delivery of architecture. Tieran is committed to innovation in all design activities through use of technology and innovative project delivery systems. For example, integration of environmentally sustainable technology into developments to support long term cost savings. Tieran is actively involved in developing the firm’s long-term IT strategy, enabling clients to become more closely involved in the design of their own facilities.
