Matthew Hutchinson is an experienced architect and Principal of ThomsonAdsett. Matthew began his career working on large-scale Health and Defence projects. Now based in Melbourne, Matthew has extensive experience in the master planning, design, documentation and procurement of Aged Care building programs from one off projects to multiple headed multimillion dollar projects for clients such as The Salvation Army.
Matthew believes that good social architecture follows from an understanding of the objectives and needs of the community that the architecture will support. He is passionately committed to achieving better outcomes for social and community organisations.
Matthew has worked on all phases of projects though offers particular skill in understanding issues and problem solving, planning and liaising with the clients and user groups. His extensive involvement with servicing and planning intensive Healthcare and Aged Care projects has given him a thorough understanding of the necessity for good co-ordination and communication throughout the design and building process.
Matthew has worked for a range of practices in Brisbane and has also worked abroad in London.
