Graham has benefited from over 14 years experience with educational projects which include a full range of Prep, Primary, Secondary and Tertiary facilities. Graham is the national head of the ThomsonAdsett Education discipline and as a Director of Education for many years he has been involved in all facets of educational projects; including client consultation, master planning, concept design, schematic design, detail design, coordination of documentation and contract administration. Notable education experience includes Rockhampton Girls Grammar School Masterplan, Christian Colleges, 6 Kent Schools, Abu Dhabi Special Care Centre, Brooklands College Redevelopment and South Thames College. Graham has also conducted an architectural peer review of the Isle of Wight College for the Learning Skills Council.
Graham has worked on an eclectic range of both small and large-scale projects in the UK and Australia, including the $405m Mackay Base Hospital Redevelopment where he fulfilled the role of Project Director. Other notable projects include an innovative new auditoria and civic space on a large school campus, a new-build office building for the Environment Agency, Rio Tinto/Kestrel Mine project and a new build office for Prudential/Veritas on the renowned GreenPark business park. Graham was also the author of a research paper regarding the dilemma of refurb or rebuild which included the creation of a research tool which enables evaluation of multiple existing buildings and estates. The tool can be applied to a variety of building typologies.
Graham's approach captures and reviews the design process throughout the project in process booklets to ensure best value is provided for each development. Graham is also the founder of 'Friends of the Industry' (Foti), a Queensland construction industry forum which meets bimonthly to debate topical issues and to promote awareness of excellence in the industry. Graham was a speaker and chair of the 'Planning for Excellence in Education - the future is green and brown' event at the State Library of Queensland in July 2010.
